Duty Lawyer Service
The lawyer will advise you on whether or not you should pursue a case. The lawyer will refer you to further attorney service if necessary.
Do You Need Help From a Lawyer?
Here you can find options of legal aid, legal expenses insurance, appeals and complaints to the Consumer Complaints Board and other approved appeals boards.
Where and When?
The duty lawyer service is normally open every Tuesday 16.00-18.00. The service is closed during schools' summer vacation, autumn holiday (week 42), winter holiday (week 8) and between Christmas and New Year and other holidays that fall on a Monday.
Counselling
The lawyer will give you oral advice once you have stated your problem.
You can choose to be anonymous. The duty lawyer service does not offer case processing.
The duty lawyer service will advise you on all types of cases and questions.
The duty lawyer service cannot assist with drawing up complaints, applications or documents. However, they do give advice on whether certain documents are needed – for example, leases, cohabitation contracts or testaments.
Remember to Draw a Number to Enter the Queue
On Tuesdays 15.30-17.30, you can draw a number for the queue at the entrance to the main library.
Please note: the service cannot be booked - first come, first served.
You cannot call the duty lawyer service - you have to be there in person.
